Dinan and Saint-Malo

We begin our journey in the fortified town of Dinan, one of Brittany’s oldest medieval gems, known for its cobbled streets, charming half-timbered houses, and impressive Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

Next, we visit Saint-Malo, where much of the town’s rich history can be found within the Old Town walls. Don’t miss the vibrant Place Chateaubriand, lined with inviting bars and cafés. Later, we arrive in Vannes, where we’ll settle into our hotel for a four-night stay.

Vannes

Enjoy a relaxing day in Vannes, a beautifully preserved fortified town rich in architectural heritage. Stroll through its cobbled streets, admire the charming half-timbered houses, and explore the vibrant pedestrianised centre. The town’s historic ramparts, blooming gardens, and intricate granite sculptures add to its tranquil and inviting atmosphere.

Day of Leisure, or Carnac and Quiberon

Join us on our optional excursion to visit two jewels of South Brittany. We head first to Carnac, and later continue to the popular seaside resort of Quiberon, long a favoured resort of the Bretons.

Concarneau and Quimper

Our included excursion begins with a visit to the historic walled town of Concarneau. Take a leisurely stroll through the old quarter, surrounded by ancient ramparts, and soak up the charm of this picturesque fishing port. We then continue to Quimper, renowned for its half-timbered houses and magnificent cathedral.

Mont Saint-Michel

Departing Vannes, we journey to the awe-inspiring Mont Saint-Michel, one of France’s most famous landmarks. According to legend, the abbey was established in the 8th century after the Archangel Michael appeared to the Bishop of Avranches in a dream. The island, with its medieval charm, remains encircled by historic walls and ramparts. Later, we continue to the Rouen area for an overnight stay.
