Bury Market, East Lancashire Railway and Oswaldtwistle Mills

We begin the day with a visit to Bury Market, voted the best market in Britain, where over 370 stalls offer a wide variety of goods, from fashion and footwear to the famous Black Puddings.

In the afternoon, we embark on a scenic journey aboard the East Lancashire Railway, traveling through the stunning landscapes of the West Pennines. With a rich history dating back to the industrial revolution, this heritage railway has been serving the region for nearly two centuries.

To round off the day, we stop at the popular Oswaldtwistle Mills for a delightful tea and cake break before returning to Blackpool.

Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside and Windermere Cruise

Today we embark on an excursion to the stunning Lake District, England’s newest UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our first stop is Bowness-on-Windermere, a charming town nestled on the shores of Windermere, renowned for its quaint shops and cafés.

We then enjoy a scenic cruise across Lake Windermere, traveling from Bowness to Waterhead Pier near the bustling town of Ambleside, located at the northern tip of the lake. Dating back to 1845, Waterhead Pier is a historical landmark, and from here, we’ll explore Ambleside at our leisure, with free time to discover its attractions.
