Your tour begins in the charming city of Bruges, where you can wander along its picturesque canals and immerse yourself in the city’s many delights. Explore iconic sights such as the Belfry and the Basilica of Holy Blood, while indulging in delicious Belgian chocolates or sampling a famous Belgian beer. From Bruges, venture to the historic port city of Ghent, known as the “flower capital of Belgium,” and one of the country’s hidden gems. You’ll also visit the town of Ypres, where you can attend the moving Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate. This coach holiday is the perfect escape for anyone seeking a taste of Belgium’s rich culture and history.

Bruges & Ypes

Spend the morning at leisure exploring Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its canals, cobbled streets, and shops selling famous Belgian chocolates. The Hotel Olympia is about a 20-30 minute walk from the historic centre.

In the afternoon, enjoy more free time in Bruges or join our optional excursion to Ypres and the Last Post Ceremony. Explore the market square with its iconic Cloth Hall and belfry before heading to Menin Gate, where the daily Last Post Ceremony takes place at 8pm in tribute to the fallen soldiers. We return to the hotel after the ceremony.

Ghent

Today, enjoy an included morning visit to Ghent, the ‘Flower Capital of Belgium’. Known for its medieval architecture and grand monuments, Ghent is a city of elegance. Visit the ‘Gravensteen’ (Castle of the Counts), a 12th-century fortress rebuilt by Philip of Alsace, offering stunning views of the city from its battlements. You’ll also see the modern City Pavilion, a striking building completed in 2012 that contrasts beautifully with the historic surroundings. After some free time to explore, we return to Bruges for an afternoon at leisure.

Return home.
