Embark on a journey through the Classic Cities of Spain, where history and culture intertwine. Continuing south, we travel towards into Spain and to Barcelona, for two nights.
Today, we’ll embark on an included sightseeing tour of Barcelona, diving into the Gothic Quarter for a taste of history, and exploring the revolutionary architectural modernism of Antoni Gaudí.
Barcelona, one of the world’s premier tourist destinations, boasts an endless array of attractions that could keep you engaged for a week, not just a day.
After the tour, you’re free to wander through the charming Barri Gòtic, shop along the lively Las Ramblas, or immerse yourself in Gaudí’s masterpieces at Park Güell and the ever-expanding Sagrada Familia.
For a more relaxed experience, hop on the harbour cable car to soak in breathtaking views of the city and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea.
Departing from Barcelona, our journey takes us to Madrid with a fascinating stop in Zaragoza, where you can marvel at the Church of Our Lady of the Pillar, adorned with ceiling paintings by the renowned artist Goya.
From there, we’ll continue on to Madrid for a three-night stay.

Spend a day relaxing in Madrid, or opt to join our excursion to Segovia, renowned for its awe-inspiring Aqueduct, one of the finest examples of Roman engineering in Spain. Enjoy some free time to wander through Segovia’s charming squares and admire its terracotta architecture, all framed by the majestic Sierra de Guadarrama mountains.
After breakfast, we’ll set off for Toledo, the ‘City of Three Cultures,’ celebrated for its rich tapestry of medieval Arab, Jewish, and Christian historical sites. Following our exploration, we’ll journey south to Seville, where we’ll enjoy a three-night stay.
Delve into the rich history of Seville, exploring its UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Alcázar, the Cathedral, and the General Archive of the Indies. Be captivated by the grandeur of Plaza de España and immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant energy.
Join our optional guided city walking tour, which includes a stroll through the enchanting Jewish Quarter of Santa Cruz, known for its picturesque, winding streets. Marvel at the Cathedral, the third largest church globally and over 500 years old. Please be aware that this tour involves considerable walking and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Embark on our optional excursion to Cadiz, a city perched on a peninsula that extends into the Gulf of Cadiz, encircled by water and rich with a history of global trade.
The city’s architecture reflects its diverse past, with narrow, cobbled streets, quaint squares, and Moorish-era buildings that have stood the test of time. Wander through the old city, where you’ll find lookout towers once used by merchants to watch for their incoming trade vessels, adding a unique charm to the skyline.

Departing from Seville, we travel to Granada with a captivating stop in Cordoba, renowned for the Great Mosque, the Mezquita, which stands as the city’s emblem. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine alleys and streets of Cordoba’s old town, where you’ll stumble upon charming squares and serene, whitewashed courtyards.
After soaking up Cordoba’s history, we’ll proceed to Granada for a two-night stay.
Join our included excursion to Granada, where you can opt for an unforgettable visit to the world-famous Alhambra Palace. This medieval marvel, the last Moorish stronghold in Europe, encompasses a fortress, palace, and enchanting gardens. After our time at the Alhambra, we’ll continue to explore the city’s other sights and attractions.

We head north through the heart of Spain to Burgos, where we stay for two nights.
Spend a day in Burgos, where the cathedral and the old quarter stand as testaments to the magnificence of Spanish Gothic architecture. You can view the statue of El Cid, Burgos’ legendary hero, on the north side of the San Pablo bridge, and pay your respects at his tomb, centrally located within the awe-inspiring Burgos Cathedral.
It is time to leave Spain behind and start our journey back towards the UK. We will cross the border into France and overnight in the Bordeaux area.
We continue our journey through France to the Paris area for our last overnight.
