Highlights of the Lake District – Windermere Hotel

On this tour, we’ll explore the charming towns of Keswick and Grasmere, along with the scenic areas surrounding Lake Windermere, where you’ll also enjoy a relaxing cruise to take in its stunning waters. Keswick and Grasmere

Today, we embark on an included excursion to the charming market town of Keswick, nestled on the shores of the picturesque Derwentwater. En route, we’ll stop at Grasmere, a serene gem at the heart of the Lake District. Here, you can visit the quaint Sarah Nelson Gingerbread Shop, tucked within the grounds of the lovely parish church, where the famous gingerbread, made from a secret recipe, draws crowds of eager visitors—don’t let the queue deter you; it’s absolutely worth the wait!

Day 3

Full Day

Day at Leisure, or Penrith and Ullswater

Enjoy a day at your own pace, or join our optional excursion to Penrith, a charming historic market town known for its cozy pubs, quaint tea rooms, cobbled lanes, and unique independent shops. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Ullswater, the stunning second-largest lake in the Lake District, stretching 7.5 miles long.

Optional Penrith and Ullswater excursion (£10pp).

Day 4

Full Day

Bowness-on-Windermere, Windermere Cruise and Ambleside

Today, we experience one of the highlights of our tour with a visit to Lake Windermere! We begin at Bowness-on-Windermere, a popular lakeside destination, where you’ll have time to explore the charming lakefront, boutique shops, and cafés before boarding our scenic cruise.

Enjoy breathtaking views as we sail towards Ambleside at the top of the lake, where you’ll have free time to explore the town’s high street before we return to the hotel.

Day 5

Return home.
