Day of Leisure at Wexford and New Ross

Enjoy a relaxing day at leisure, or join our optional excursion to the historic Norse town of Wexford. Once known as Waesfjord – ‘the harbour of the mud flats’ – Wexford is famous for its narrow streets, charming harbour, and lively pubs. Located where the River Slaney meets Wexford Harbour, it was once a bustling port.

Next, we head to New Ross, a town rich in history, where we’ll visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship. Experience the story of Irish famine emigrants through actors in period costume aboard this authentic 1840s emigrant vessel.

Kilkenny

This morning, we journey to the charming city of Kilkenny, Ireland’s medieval capital, for an included excursion. Perched above the River Nore, the castle overlooks the town, while a quaint stone bridge leads to narrow, lively streets filled with well-preserved buildings.

You’ll have free time to explore at your own pace—be sure to visit Kilkenny Castle, or join our optional walking tour, a fun and informative way to discover the rich history of this medieval gem.

Waterford

Explore the historic city of Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland, first visited by the Vikings in 852 AD. The city has preserved much of its medieval charm, alongside the graceful 18th-century buildings from its expansion.

The Viking Triangle, the city’s ‘old town,’ clearly marks the boundaries of the 10th-century settlement. Here, you can admire Reginald’s Tower, Ireland’s most significant medieval urban monument, along with stunning examples of 18th-century architecture, including the elegant Chamber of Commerce building, City Hall, and Bishop’s Palace.

Wicklow Mountains & Dublin

We begin our journey north through the stunning Wicklow Mountains, stopping at the picturesque town of Avoca, made famous by ‘Ballykissangel,’ and the beautiful Glendalough Valley, renowned for its scenic beauty and rich historical and archaeological significance.

In the afternoon, we continue to Dublin, a city filled with charm and surprises. Its magnificent Georgian architecture sets the stage for a vibrant mix of live entertainment, inviting attractions, and delightful indulgences around every corner.

Our optional sightseeing tour offers a fun and informative way to explore Ireland’s capital. We then head to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin for an overnight stay.
