Little Trains of the Pyrenees

Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Pyrenees. Departing from the charming town of Roses, we’ll travel through the Cap de Creus Nature Park via the Roses Express Train. Then, hop aboard the famous Little Yellow Train for a scenic ride from Rivesaltes to Axat, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of this majestic mountain range.

Roses Express

This morning, take your time to explore Roses at your leisure. This modern town on the northern Costa Brava boasts great shopping, restaurants, and bars, alongside some of the region’s most beautiful and uncrowded beaches.

In the afternoon, hop on the charming Roses Express, a little town train with its distinctive colourful tractor-style engine, for a scenic ride through the Cap de Creus Nature Park. Here, you’ll be treated to stunning sea views.

Little Yellow Train of the Pyrenees*

Today, we’re off to France for a day trip with our local guide. We’ll travel to Villefranche to board the iconic Yellow Train for a scenic ride through the Pyrenees, disembarking at the quaint mountain village of Mont Louis. From there, we’ll take our coach back to Roses.

*Please note, from April to October, the Yellow Train might be under maintenance and not operating. In such cases, we’ll visit Lake Banyoles for a boat trip and explore Besalú with its charming little town train instead.

Nuria Valley Railway of the Pyrenees

Today’s adventure includes a guided excursion on the Rack Railway to the Sanctuary of Núria. Nestled in the Eastern Pyrenees, the Vall de Núria mountain resort overlooks the Ribes Valley. Prepare for stunning views as we ascend over 1,000 meters in a 12-kilometer journey.

The Red Train of the Pyrenees

Today, we’re in for a treat with a ride on the Train du Pays Cathare et du Fenouillèdes, affectionately known as the Red Train.

This historic line, part of which has been running since 1901, will take us to the charming town of Axat. After soaking up some local atmosphere during your free time, we’ll return to Roses by coach.

Figueres and the Dali Museum

This quaint town has become a global attraction due to its connection with Salvador Dalí, whose eccentric and surreal artworks are showcased in the Dalí Museum. We’ll spend some time here, exploring and appreciating the artist’s renowned masterpieces.

Day 8

Time to bid a fond farewell to Roses today as we make our way to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.

Day 9

Return home.
